The University of Granada, UGR, operates the Andalusian Global Atmosphere Observatory (AGORA), located in southern Spain, and includes several experimental sites. AGORA combines \ncomplementary stations with different atmospheric conditions, high degree of expertise and \nmany facilities providing an ideal environment for a wide range of aerosol research, from urban \nto remote background conditions. AGORA favours integrated studies by using a broad range \nof instrumentation from active and passive remote sensing to a variety of in-situ \nmethodologies. The location of the installations in the most meridional sector of the European \ncontinent near the African coast allows a detailed analysis of the Saharan dust prior to be \nmixed in highly polluted areas of Europe and the use of a high mountain stations allow the \ndetection of the impact of the anthropogenic aerosol (originated at the metropolitan area of \nGranada) contribution modulated for the daily and seasonal cycle of the Planetary Boundary \nLayer. La Universidad de Granada (UGR), fundada en 1531, es una de las universidades m\u00e1s grandes e importantes de Espa\u00f1a y ofrece una de las gamas m\u00e1s amplias y diversas de programas de educaci\u00f3n superior en Espa\u00f1a. La Universidad de Granada, UGR, opera el Observatorio Global de la Atm\u00f3sfera de Andaluc\u00eda (AGORA), ubicado en el sur de Espa\u00f1a, e incluye varios sitios experimentales. A continuaci\u00f3n se incluye una descripci\u00f3n resumida en la secci\u00f3n dedicada. Infraestructuras significativas El Observatorio Global de la Atm\u00f3sfera de Andaluc\u00eda (AGORA), ubicado en el sur de Espa\u00f1a, incluye varios sitios experimentales. El emplazamiento principal es la estaci\u00f3n de la UGR (37\u00b0 9&#8217;49.21&#8243;N, 3\u00b036&#8217;17.94&#8243;W, 680 m s.n.m.), situada en Granada. La estaci\u00f3n, que pertenece al Instituto Andaluz de Investigaciones del Sistema Tierra, IISTA_CEAMA, de la Universidad de Granada, combina el monitoreo a largo plazo de la distribuci\u00f3n vertical de aerosoles atmosf\u00e9ricos, basado en activos y teledetecci\u00f3n pasiva, con mediciones in-situ para la caracterizaci\u00f3n de part\u00edculas de aerosoles, as\u00ed como el seguimiento de la radiaci\u00f3n atmosf\u00e9rica y solar en varios rangos espectrales.\u00a0AGORA incluye instalaciones adicionales en Sierra Nevada, que por su proximidad ofrecen una oportunidad \u00fanica de combinar el sondeo remoto vertical de la columna atmosf\u00e9rica desde la estaci\u00f3n de la UGR con mediciones in situ a diferentes elevaciones en pistas de Sierra Nevada. As\u00ed, se han utilizado varias ubicaciones de alta monta\u00f1a en el marco de diferentes campa\u00f1as experimentales durante los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, incluido un sitio estacional AERONET (Cerro Poyos, 37,11\u00b0N; 3,49\u00b0W; 1830 ms nm).\u00a0Estos lugares de monta\u00f1a incluyen algunos edificios que pertenecen a la Universidad de Granada y el acceso a infraestructuras del Parque Nacional de Sierra Nevada.\u00a0En 2016 se instal\u00f3 una ubicaci\u00f3n de alta monta\u00f1a en 37,09 N; 3,38W; 2550 m snm. La estaci\u00f3n de alta monta\u00f1a, Estaci\u00f3n Sierra Nevada, permite la caracterizaci\u00f3n de episodios de transporte regional y de largo alcance y la validaci\u00f3n de algoritmos de inversi\u00f3n utilizados para recuperar propiedades microf\u00edsicas de aerosoles y nubes con t\u00e9cnicas LIDAR y RADAR. Las principales actividades de investigaci\u00f3n de AGORA se centran en el estudio de la atm\u00f3sfera, la superficie terrestre y sus interacciones mediante teledetecci\u00f3n y t\u00e9cnicas in situ. AGORA combina estaciones complementarias con diferentes condiciones atmosf\u00e9ricas, un alto grado de experiencia y muchas instalaciones que proporcionan un entorno ideal para una amplia gama de investigaciones de aerosoles, desde condiciones urbanas hasta condiciones remotas.\u00a0AGORA favorece los estudios integrados mediante el uso de una amplia gama de instrumentaci\u00f3n, desde sensores remotos activos y pasivos hasta una variedad de metodolog\u00edas in situ. La ubicaci\u00f3n de las instalaciones en el sector m\u00e1s meridional del continente europeo cerca de la costa africana permite un an\u00e1lisis detallado del polvo sahariano antes de mezclarse en zonas altamente contaminadas de Europa y el uso de estaciones de alta monta\u00f1a permite detectar el impacto de la contribuci\u00f3n de aerosol antropog\u00e9nico (originado en el \u00e1rea metropolitana de Granada) modulada para el ciclo diario y estacional de la Capa L\u00edmite Planetaria.\u00a0AGORA, debido a su ubicaci\u00f3n en las laderas de las monta\u00f1as de Sierra Nevada, ofrece una combinaci\u00f3n \u00fanica de sondeo remoto y t\u00e9cnicas in situ a diferentes elevaciones, lo que supone un valor a\u00f1adido para la validaci\u00f3n de perfiles verticales de propiedades microf\u00edsicas de aerosoles y nubes recuperados mediante inversi\u00f3n de datos de teledetecci\u00f3n adquiridos a nivel de valle y para estudios de interacciones de la troposfera sin PBL.
