University of Valladolid - Group of Atmospheric Optics
UVA participa en la “Central Facility” CARS (Central Facility for Aerosol Remote Sensing) en la Unidad Automatic sun/sky/lunar photometers (ASP).
UVA was funded in the XIII century and is one of the oldest universities in Europe. The Group of Atmospheric Optics (GOA) of the Optics Department of the Science Faculty has a long record in atmospheric research by optical methods for more than 20 years.
Since 2006 the GOA group operates an AERONET calibration facility, in close collaboration with AERONET headquarters in NASA, the Laboratory of Atmospheric Optics in Lille and the Izaña Atmospheric Research Center, in Tenerife, belonging to the Meteorological State Agency of Spain (AEMET). This calibration facility has participated in the ACTRIS, ACTRIS-2 and ACTRIS-PPP projects and will continue as part of ACTRIS ERIC Centre for Aerosol Remote Sensing (CARS).
